This year started with a great vision for a new ministry in Kenya. In the preparing for it I was instructed to return to university for a Grant Writing Class! This is a stretch since it has been 30 years since I was in school, even though I taught each week. This was to have assignments, papers, and so much responsibility but I agreed (to the Lord) and enrolled in City Vision University.
That class took me til two days before I left for Kenya and I'm proud to say I learned extensively and passed with an A! Not bad for turning 70 in January.
The trip was to scout out the land and of course minister in the usual areas and with my close acquaintances I have already secured there. It's now my second home and travel is not a hardship; I see it as an adventure, always with little miracles here and there.
This trip was full of large and small miracles. I chose to put some excepts of my journal reports I made to my Prayer Partners below, with some of the important pictures. Then further below I will be addressing the Esther's Project and its potential effect on the young teen moms in Kenya.
I am excited and I hope you will be one of the founding partners to support this program.
At any time during your purvey of this report, you can give directly by clicking on the Pay pal button on your right !!
I pray I have many that will join the effort to change lives with me in Kenya, and make your donation a monthly pledge.
Now for the adventure....enjoy!!!!

Good Sunday report.
Spoke at Nairobi church this am , God moved, presented pastor with a new video recorder God told me to purchase for his live fb church recordings (he has used phone for 6 years) , prayed for many, prophesied to many, fed the children, gave them toys and love and back home just in time for the power to turn back on that had been off all day. God is so good. I’ve known this pastor for 20 yrs this was a divine reconnection after 10 years. I’m in for night ❤️❤️❤️
I am so touched by Holy Spirit that he allowed me the first day in Kenya to come face to face with the very need that my heart wants to meet, on the streets of Nairobi.
I asked for a face, as I know it is hard to realize things like this happen, especially from our nice comfortable living rooms where we share meals and love on the special children in our lives.
That there are those like Margaret and Natalia that don’t even look forward to a bed at night or know when they can expect their next meal.
So many times we excuse ourselves from help saying , that this just can’t be true, it must be a scam.
But Natalia was a real 7 month old who was nursing in the dirt on the streets of Nairobi. Is that her God destiny? No I think not.
As her mother who is 16 was receiving Jesus I thought , I hope she means it and is not just grasping for any help that may come.
God help me show girls like this there is a Father who lives and cares and will meet her needs just like He meets ours.
God bless your day today. As you start, say a prayer for these special children. I love you !!
Another entry:
I am headed to Kisii about 6 hour drive in the am. We will drive through Nairobi, the Rift Valley and Maasai tribe land before we reach Narok which is half way there. I say that because the first half of the trip is on some sketchy roads, mountains, cliffs and big trucks who own the road. After that it’s pretty flat.
I will be there til Sunday.
Ministry meeting Saturday all day.
I’ll be teaching/ministering .
Business meeting all day Friday; plans for Esther’s Project. I am going to be at the site we have determined to be the home of the project if all goes as planned 🙏
We will have fellowship meeting with the widows and orphans also, feeding them and giving treats and loving on the children.
I also have two pastors coming to Kisii to meet me at the Mt. I will pray over them and their ministries.
The county of Nyamira, population 605,576, according to 2019 census, in the country of Kenya is in the middle of an ongoing crisis of teenage pregnancy which result in the young mothers and their infants homeless on the streets of Kericho and Kisii days after giving birth. They are being released from hospital sometimes with little to no resources or means to get even formula for their infants.
They are, in some cases, in need of additional medical attention due to the conditions of their childbirth, but having no physical insurance or monies are released from hospital following the very most limited medical care that is necessary.
Many of these girls are too young for delivery resulting in obstetric fistula. This condition , left untreated causes skin irritations, kidney disorders, social isolation and even death left untreated
These young girls have become pregnant mostly from child sexual abuse, incest and sexual solicitation demanded in some cases by their parents. Incest takes place among school going adolescents, teenagers or youth while they are still in school under their parents. The perpetrators are normally male relatives in or outside the home
These girls, after becoming pregnant, also become one of the highest categories of school dropouts. There are 5 sub counties in Nyamira County with 14 divisions and 46 village location, all of which are effected. Nyamira county borders Migori county and experiences similar challenges.
Studies show that Teenage pregnancy is a prevalent problem in Kenya and a major reason that girls have to drop from school. The problem is even worse in rural areas , which is presented here. According to 2022 Kenya Demographic Survey*(1), 15% of women between 14 and 19 have been pregnant at some point. Teen pregnancies are found to be more common among poor rural communities , where health families are far and inaccessible.
These adolescent mothers are more likely to suffer other health problems due to their age. Many of these girls upon release from hospital, and their parents either unwilling or unable to help support them tend to look for jobs as house maids in towns away from home to support themselves and their infants.
Many end up in larger areas, such as Nairobi looking for support. This many times ends at some point with them selling their bodies for money to support themselves and their baby.
Esther’s Project, operating under Jubilee Family Center/Open Heaven Missions, be gathering these young girls upon release from hospital and taking them to Mt Carmel; a central organization already located in Nyamira county which has dormitory facilities, a cooking area and main meeting rooms.
We will provide the mothers with new mom classes as well as training in various areas of professional work occupations. At this time we will also have medical facilities for the infants, giving them the necessary immunizations and making sure they are fed properly in these important first months. The necessary medical needs will also be addressed with the young mothers, making sure they are healthy and fully recovered.
The future for Esther’s Project will be providing jobs for the teen moms in the local area from their training, creating homes for these young moms and their babies within families of the area. This plan will keep the girls within their own county and tribe, which will provide them with a better sense of identity and purpose as they raise their new family.
